9 Vice-Chancellor, 12 Deputy Vice-Chancellor positions up for grabs in Kenya

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has advertised vacancies in the positions of Vice-Chancellor (nine) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (12).

The nine universities seeking Vice-Chancellors are Pwani, Kisii, Karatina, University of Eldoret, Machakos, South Eastern Kenya, Technical University of Kenya, Kabianga and Alupe.

The universities that are seeking DVCs include Pwani (two vacancies: Academic and Student Affairs; and Research and Extension), Kisii (Administration and Finance), Karatina (two vacancies: Academic, Research and Student Affairs; and Planning, Finance and Administration), University of Eldoret (Academic and Student Affairs) and Machakos (Administration, Planning and Finance).

The others that are hunting for DVCs are South Eastern Kenya (Academic, Research and Innovation), Tom Mboya (Academic Research and Innovation), Kabianga (Administration and Finance) and Alupe (two vacancies: Academics, Research and Student Affairs; and Administration Finance and Development).

The applications' deadline is 5pm on Monday, March 20, 2023.

Those seeking Vice-Chancellor positions must be holders of earned PhDs and are serving either as Professors or Associate Professors, have at least ten years of demonstrable leadership in an academic and/or research institution and be of high ethical standards, integrity and accountability.

Those seeking Deputy Vice-Chancellor posts must be holders of earned PhDs, and must be persons of unquestionable integrity.
