Go well Prof Magoha, you have left behind an indelible mark

The sleepy and sun-beaten Yala town in Siaya County bubbled to life on Sunday as residents trooped to the late George Magoha's home to accord him a befitting send-off.

Save for a few grumbles as Magoha's widow, Barbara, was accused of not morning her husband 'the Luo way', everything else went according to plan.

Prof Magoha was eulogised as a servant leader, philanthropist per excellence, educationist and a giant who achieved anything that he trained his sights on.

The academic fraternity regretted his demise as irreplaceable through his constant input whenever they were stuck.

Magoha pioneered the changes that are currently visible in our education structure, top on the list being the CBC, and structures to ensure it didn't falter even post-his ministerial calling.

What Magoha said or did that changed so many lives shall remain on our lips for a long time.

Generations to come are likely to shudder at what drove the giant who towered over everything he found himself in. Fare thee well good professor, we shall indeed, meet again.
