Kajiado Governor Joseph ole Lenku has appealed to his supporters to ignore propaganda being spread by his opponents that he is not contesting for re-election. Mr Lenku said his opponents were spreading rumors that the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition would front Jubilee candidate, Mr David Nkedianye.

Mr Lenku promised to empower more women if re-elected. The more than two women who attended to event vowed to drum up support for him. "I have really tried to empower many women in my current government. But that's not enough, we need to do more," said Mr Lenku.

He said he recognised women were marginalised due cultural beliefs.
