A man accused of defiling his daughter is to spend a week at the Kisii Remand Prison.

Principal Magistrate Ezekiel Obinah ordered that he be detained until Monday when the court will rule on his bond terms.

This is after the accused pleaded not guilty to defilement charges and requested the court to release him on reasonable bond terms, arguing that he was the sole breadwinner for his family.

The man was arrested Sunday evening from his hideout in Kongasis, Kiambogo in Nakuru County by detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau and their Kisii counterparts.

According to police, the suspect who took plea yesterday is alleged to have lured her daughter into a thicket where he committed the beastly act.

He went ahead to threaten his wife with dire consequences if she dared report the matter to the police.

In the same court, the magistrate ordered that a man accused of killing his son be detained for a period of a week.

The court ordered that within seven days, the DCI will conduct a DNA and forensic analysis on what was recovered.

On the notice of motion drawn and filled by the DPP, some exhibits which were recovered from the scene of crime need to be subjected to DNA forensic analysis.

The accused, Nehemiah Asiago was arrested on Friday last week at Parklands Nairobi by detectives deployed in the Serious Crime Unit Homicide as he tried to flee the country.

Asiago is accused that in the month of June 2020 he picked a quarrel with his son Byron Kerongo following a domestic disagreement.

This is when he allegedly took a kitchen knife and stabbed his son in the left side of the chest killing him instantly.
