First Lady Margaret Kenyatta

Being the fourth first lady of Kenya, she carries a whole nation as its mother. She is an epitome of greatness with three children, two sons and one daughter. Hon Margaret is passionate about the motherhood scene, having begun the Beyond Zero campaign. This is a campaign which involves walks and monetary donations from people of goodwill to fund a zero maternal death program in Kenya. Through this program, mothers are able to deliver with zero costs under the Linda Mama cover, and mobile clinics where no hospitals exists are set up to aid in this initiative. As a mother, her excellency has shown a perfect example and presents an opportunity for all Kenyans to be able to access better maternal care.

She was very vocal on maternal health especially with regards to breastfeeding and early childhood nursing care. Being a representative member of Parliament for Kwale County, she caused a buzz when she went to the parliament with her months old daughter and was kicked out. This created an outrage, showing that women need access to nursing units within their places of work so as to help transition to work after maternity leave.

Being the former First lady of The United States of America, Michelle set a tremendous example as a leader and mother. She had two daughters, whom she passionately raises. Her movement on empowering girls especially from Black communities has been able to support them in education and improving their confidence. To a great degree, she was vocal about the role of women in empowering their counterparts, especially mothers to be able to transition to work well, with Americans dealing with a lot of maternity policy issues that remain unresolved. Her contributions are never ending and are impactful.

She is the tenth prime minister of Bangladesh and has two children. Being a political leader in such a male dominated nation, she has gone beyond all odds of breaking the glass ceiling. She is celebrated for a lot of achievements spearheading women and mothers. Hasina is considered one of the most powerful women in the world, ranking 26th on Forbes' list of The World's 100 Most Powerful Women in 2018, and 30th in 2017. Her role as a mother and still political leader despite being widowed has been proof that women can conquer great skies if given the opportunity.
