Bandari Swimming Club splash their way to victory at Casa gala

Like torpedoes, Bandari Swimming Club’s swimmers were simply unstoppable during the Coast Level One championship in Mombasa.

Coached by former international swimmer Fakry Mansoor, Bandari had the lion’s share in the two day championship, winning almost at will.

In girls’ five years and under 25m breaststroke, Bandari claimed the top three positions with Nadia Thuranira winning in a time of 39.40 seconds.

Falaq Kasmani and Samantha Hailey clocked 44.32 and 47.52 seconds respectively.

Bandari’s Daniella Jasmin registered a time of 40.05 seconds to win the girls’ 6-7 years 25m breaststroke.

Dalilah Mohammed of Aga Khan Academy Mombasa and Bandari’s Dharni Shah clocked 40.64 and 40.94 respectively.

Harith Muses (Aga Khan Academy) was fourth in 26.72, Snellen Muturi (Blue Ocean swim club) fifth in a time of 28.31 and Mombasa Aquatic’s Abdulkadir Abdulkadir sixth in 28.74 in the boys’ 6-7 years 25m breaststroke category.

In boys’ five years and under 25m breaststroke, Madyan Murad from Mombasa Parents Swim Club won in a time of 38.82 seconds.

Bandari’s duo of Maahir Baradia and Aaryan Deep clocked 48.80 and 51.42 to finish second and third respectively.

Kojo Kwame from Aga Khan Academy won the boys’ 14-15 years 50m breaststroke after registering a time of 42.45 seconds to beat Ayush Ranjan (43.86) and Simon Kioko (52.21) from Aga Khan Academy and Bandari to the second and third positions.

In boys’ 16 years and over 50m breaststroke, Baraka Kitsao from Kilifi’s Kivukoni School won after returning 43.92 seconds. Bandari’s Athman Yusuf clocked 44.35 to finish second.

In girls’ 8-9 years 100m freestyle, Nalwoga Mutinda from Mombasa Aquatic clocked 1.29.54 for victory.

Bandari’s pair of Amina Sheikh and Khadija Khuweylid timed 1.35.37 and 1.40.95 respectively.

Ida Mailu of Tudor Swim Club won girls’ 10-11 years 100m freestyle after posting a time of  1.27.15 with Danisha D’silva of Aga Khan Academy timing 1.31.80 to finish second.

Shauna Bachelani from Blue Ocean Swim Club was third in a time of 1.33.76.
