People from all walks of life flocked churches and entertainment joints to celebrate Christmas.

Bishop Maurice Muhatia led a mass at the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru, calling on Christians of faith to preach peace and unity.

“All Christians should unite and thank God for His favour and to preach peace within their families, friends, and the country at large," said Bishop Muhatia.

Apostle John Kimani of Kingdom Seekers Fellowship on his part asked Christians to emulate the teaching of Jesus Christ.

“The greatness of Christmas is not in the presents you receive but His presence,” said Kimani.

He said the leadership of the country should have the wisdom to help provide solutions to issues affecting the society.

Bishop Naftali Thuku of African Independent Pentecostal Church Africa, North diocese, also asked Kenyans to preach.

A section of Christians also visited Subukia Shrines and Menengai Caves for prayers.

Hundreds of families also visited Lake Nakuru National Park to watch wild animals.

Less fortunate

Meanwhile, more than 200 street children and the less fortunate had a fun-filled day in Nakuru town.

The community of Sant Egidio served the children with meals before cutting a cake.

“We found it fulfilling to share our love with street children who feel isolated,” said Francis Waithaka, the coordinator.

Most streets in the cosmopolitan town were deserted.
