Transmara teacher busted with Form Three student in lodging house

A secondary school teacher who had an "inappropriate relationship" with a student, including sexual contact has been arrested after being busted at a lodging house in Transmara, Narok county.

According to police reports, Nathan Kosgei was busted by members of the public after he reportedly lured one of his students, a 17-year-old girl to a local lodging house.

Curious members of the public raised the alarm after seeing the student in one of the rooms.

Kosgei and the student both of Simotwet Secondary School were found locked up in the house located in Transmara East before police were called in.

According to area Chief Richard Bett, locals who saw the two entering the room informed him, prompting him to call the police.

“I was informed by curious members of the public after the student was seen at a lodging house with the teacher,” said Bett.

Kosgei and the minor were arrested and taken to Emurua Dikirr Police Station after being taken to hospital for medical assessment.

 “Police forced their way inside the room and arrested the duo after which they were taken to the Transmara hospital for medical assessment.”
