Three suspects in the 2015 Garissa University terror attack case have been found guilty in a Nairobi court.

Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi acquitted Sahal Diriy Hussein of all charges but found Rashid Mberesero, Hassan Edin Hassan and Muhamed Abdi Abukar guilty of all the charges. The prosecution is seeking a maximum sentence against the trio.

Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi said that the three who were found guilty were in communication with the attackers hence they have a case to answer,

Sahal Diriy Hussein however, was arrested in the company of one of the suspects and the prosecution could not provide the evidence linking him to the attack.

On April 2, 2015, armed Al-Shabaab gunmen stormed Garissa University College and shot indiscriminately killing 148 people, among them students and security officers and injuring 79.

The three will be sentenced on July 3 at Milimani court.
