Sabina Chege: I was never booed, I cried because of President Uhuru’s goodies to the county

Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has denied reports that she was heckled during Team Embrace rally in Murang’a on Friday.

Speaking on Sunday at Kahatia Primary School, the female legislator said: “I dare anyone with a video clip of me being booed to produce it. I was never heckled.”

Ms Chege said she shed tears because of the overwhelming development support she had received from the National Government.

“Receiving vaccination machines worth Sh36 million and cheques for women and youth worth Sh25 million cannot be taken for granted. I was overcamed by the love and cried when it became apparent that some people want to rubbish the ongoing development agenda in the county,” she said.

Ms Chege made the remarks at the school where she had sponsored a free medical camp. She was also accompanied by leaders from across the political divide.

In the viral video shared online, Ms Chege was seen crying amidst pro-Ruto slogan as she tried to address the gathering.

Several women who had attended the rally, including Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, were seen calming her down.

After apparently being calmed down, she was seen and heard lecturing the crowd.

“Do you love Uhuru or not? Do you want to embarrass him? Are you ready to support him to the end of his term? That is where I am unapologetically,” she told the crowd.

She also claimed that her opponents were behind the rude reception and urged the residents not to be misused saying it was not time for politicking.
