Was it proper for Ruto to defend Governor Waititu on audit queries?

I fully support Deputy President  William Ruto’s defence of governor Ferdinand Waititu (pictured).

Dr Ruto himself has suffered the brunt of negative publicity for being associated with graft and he had to speak in defence of governor Waititu.

If anything, he spoke the minds of many people, including leaders from Kiambu.

The truth of the matter is that there is no way the Controller of Budget can release funds meant for the county government to be channelled to national government functions.

I am a member of the Country Assembly Public Service and Administration Committee and as a house team; we did not approve the purported items that were in the budget.

There is no way it could have escaped our attention.

This tendency to build our politics on lies and propaganda must come to an end.

If you remember how propaganda was used to send governor William Kabogo home, you can agree with me that we should stand with the truth despite of the outcome.

I happened to have seen the invitation letter from the Senate to Baba Yao; and according to it, he was supposed to shed light on five contentious areas.

They included the World Bank projects, Kaa sober programme, the contested supplementary budget and the wage bill. I do not understand how the other issues emerged during the sitting.

The grilling in Senate has now proved beyond reasonable doubt that the Senate should be abolished if they cannot discharge their functions as required.
