Chief in trouble for disappearing with Huduma Namba kit

An assistant chief in Murang’a has been charged with sabotaging Huduma Namba after he disappeared with the registration equipment.

Gerald Maina Ndirangu appeared before Murang’a Principal Magistrate Edwin Nyaga today.

He was charged that on diverse dates between April 5 and 7, he took the electronic gadget from his Gikandu sub-location, thus frustrating the ongoing registration.

The prosecution told the court that the administrator, after a search, was traced to a local bar enjoying drinks with friends.

His disappearance for Gikandu locals to access the services in neighbouring sub-locations.

Chief Ndirangu has since been interdicted and was released on an Sh100,000 bond with a surety of a similar amount.

The case will be heard on June 14.
