Jail for suicidal mum who butchered son

Munyi made a ruling on an application made by the Criminal Investigation Department, Nakuru North, for an order to hold the suspect for 14 days. Wangari who lived in Kiamaina village in Bahati, Nakuru County, reportedly murdered her son before stabbing herself in a suicide attempt. The woman is said to have stabbed her son four times in the chest using a kitchen knife on a Sunday morning. Police reports state that although Wangari appears jovial, she at times exhibited signs of depression and violence. “The single mother of one turned the knife she used to kill her son on herself after seeing her son breathe his last,” reads the police report. The son who was allegedly in pain before his demise made crying noises that alerted the neighbours. They were however too late as he was dead by the time they reached the house.
