Lands Cabinet Secretary, Ms Farida Karoney has lauded developers in real estate for embracing modernity when investing in the sector.

Speaking at the Nyali Golf View Residence, a latest attraction to the Mombasa County stylish accommodation sector, the CS  noted that with the ever increase  demand on land for construction , there is every right to ensure that the little space available is utilised to the maximum during construction.

''The developer of Nyali Golf View Residence has done the exact and well utilised the one acre plot to put up this high rise facility of mixed user nature,'' Karoney said.

She added that it is common knowledge that land is becoming scarce by the day in areas designated as towns or cities.

''People should start talking about investing in the construction of high rise structures. I highly appreciate what I have seen and sampled at the Nyali Golf View Residence,'' the CS said.

She said that it was evident that Kenyan developers were catching up with the growing trend the world over especially in the hospitality sector where serviced apartments ideal for family holiday stay were taking the centre stage.

''The rooms here are spacious giving it natural air circulation with incredible view of the whole of Mombasa from its top most floor,'' she said.

Stakeholders in the tourism industry have added their voice to latest entrant in the Mombasa hospitality sector with the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) and the Kenya Coast Tourist Association (KCTA) commending the developers of Nyali Golf View Residence for coming up with such a facility.

KCTA CEO, Mr Julius Owino said that serviced apartments cater for demand for alternatives to hotels with the promise of enhanced comfort.

The towering 13-storey hybrid residential block started construction in August 2013 and took six year to complete.

It has among other features an infinity pool on the 12th floor and viewing decks on the 12th and 13th floors.
