Woman, daughter arrested over husband’s death in Kisii

Police in Kisii are holding a woman and her daughter after her husband was found murdered outside the gate leading to their home.

Charles Otwabe, 60, a father of five was found dead with deep injuries on his chest at around 6am at Kebaracho Village in Kenyenya Sub County by neighbours who  alerted his family members.

The area Chief Kamau Nyaboga told The Standard members of the public  conducted a search in Konga’s house where they found blood stains in his bedroom and outside his house.

“Members of the public found blood stains on his beddings and also found an axe that is suspected to have been used in killing the deceased and a wheelbarrow that was used to ferry his body from the house,” said Nyaboga.

The Chief said that the police were forced to use teargas to disperse irate members of the public who wanted to lynch the woman and her daughter and burn down their home .

The two were taken to Kenyenya Police Station where they are being held as the police conduct investigations.

Phillip Onderi, a son to the deceased who works in Kisii town told The Standard he had visited their home on Wednesday where he met his parents and spoke to them about preparations for cultivation of their land.

The body of the deceased was to taken to the Lenmek Hospital Mortuary in Ogembo town for postmortem examination.
