Uhuru and Ruto meet at State House after Matiang'i elevation

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto, held a lengthy meeting at State House Mombasa on Wednesday.

Details of what they discussed are still unknown. They later went for lunch at a popular restaurant in downtown Mombasa.

The entourage, which included Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale and Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, then went to the Mombasa Golf Club and stayed until late today.

According to our sources at Moi International Airport, the DP arrived in Mombasa minutes to 8am and drove to State House. He was later joined by Mr Duale.

"The DP left here (Nairobi) very early in the morning. He had a meeting with the President but I don't have the details," said a source close to the DP.

The meeting comes two days after Uhuru elevated Dr Matiang'i, granting him supervisory powers in the Government.
