Tharaka Nithi motorists protest against deplorable state of roads

The motorists said the road was in a deplorable condition that had made access to Meru town difficult.
Motorists in Tharaka South blocked the Nkondi-Miomponi road to protest its poor state.

The motorists said the road was in a deplorable condition that had made access to Meru town difficult.

They claimed their vehicles were wearing out faster because of the road and appealed to MP Gitonga Murugara to intervene.

 "We want our MP to come in and ensure that the road is repaired,” said James Muthamia, one of the motorists.

In Maara constituency, boda boda operators teamed up to patch up parts of the Katharaka-Kanoro road ruined by heavy rains on Sunday night.

The rains left ditches on parts of the road, cutting the area off from Chogoria town.

The riders called on MP Kareke Mbiuki to intervene and have the road fixed so normal movement could resume.
