Plaids or chequered fabric are versatile choices that will give you instant wins this Christmas.

Plaids or chequered fabric are versatile choices that will give you instant wins this Christmas. Easily replicated with the commonly used maasai cloth, the chequered cloth is the trending fabric for the most wonderful festive time of the year.

Christmas tree

Is the tree stand or tree bucket looking unsightly? Then use your chequered fabric to wrap the bucket or create a tree skirt to conceal an unsightly base.

This not only help your tree look more aesthetic but it will make tree look anchored and balanced.

Table runners

Alternative cut the chequered fabric into long strips of rectangles and use as table runners for your dining or coffee table.

Secure it with lanterns on each end and place miniature Christmas trees on the table runner. The lantern will remind you to shed the light of Christmas to any dark situation in your life.

Bedroom

Do not limit your Christmas ambience only to the living room and entrance hall but bring the jolly mood into the bedroom.

Place your rectangular long strips of chequered fabric at the foot of your bed to act as a sash and reinforce your theme with two pillow cases in matching plaids.

Bathroom

If being subtle is your style. Buy a ribbon with red and green plaids and have plenty of fun with it as your place bows in little odd places that will create a festive surprise to the beholder. Tie the bells with the plaid ribbon or place some in the toilet or bathroom door.

If using a large plaid fabric in your holiday ambience, then you will want to be careful to pair it with complementing solid Christmas colours, so that it doesn’t get overbearing.

Normally the plaid fabric is made from wool which makes it super ideal to act as a throw and cuddle up to the warmth of family during holiday festivities.
