Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i braved the chilly Kericho morning weather to lead a high powered delegation of senior education and security officers to oversee the distribution of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers.

Dr Matiangi arrived at Kericho County Commissioner Muktar Abdi’s office at 6:45AM to oversee the distribution of the highly guarded KCSE examination and to mark the commencement of the examination in the country.

The Education Cabinet Secretary was accompanied by his Energy counterpart Charles Keter, Rift valley regional Coordinator Wanyama  Musiambu, Kericho Deputy Governor Susan Kikwai among others.

Kericho Moi Tea Girls, Kipsigis Girls and Kericho High school were some of the first schools  to receive their first batch of KCSE examination papers.

ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru has said the government through Ministry of Education is working closely with Ministry of Interior to ensure Form Four candidates get credible results by curbing cheating. He spoke at Kampi ya Moto after witnessing the opening of KCSE examination container. The CS was accompanied by acting Director General of Education Mr Robert Masese.
