Thirteen Jubilee MPs have written to the international community to protest at what they claim is an attempt by Opposition leader Raila Odinga to subvert the Government.

The Jubilee legislators urged the foreign superpowers not to be deceived by Raila’s assertion that there was a constitutional or legal crisis in the country warranting their intervention to force the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta into political dialogue.

In their letter sent to the European Union and the ambassadors of their member countries, United States, Britain, the African Union and its member states, and the United Nations, the 13 legislators claimed there was a deliberate attempt by Raila to subvert the Constitution after realising that he cannot win in the repeat presidential race.

Among those who have signed the letter dated yesterday are MPs Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town), Peter Kihara (Mathioya), Patrick Munene (Chuka Igambang’ombe), Gideon Keter (nominated), James Mwangi (Tetu), Faith Gitau (Nyandarua Woman Rep), Patrick Mariru (Laikipia West), Purity Ngirici (Kirinyaga). The others are Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Gathoni wa Muchomba (Kiambu Women Rep), and James Gichuhi (Tetu).
