Eldoret Sports Club is expected to a bee hive of activity this morning when the inaugural Sepetuka Sevens tournament gets underway.

Kenya Commercial Bank, the top seed who are fresh from winning the Prinsloo Sevens at Nakuru Athletics Club last weekend, are determined to the win in Nakuru was no fluke.

KCB, who were not among the favourites at the Prinsloo Sevens Championships, but shocked Nakuru RFC 29-5 in the finals, are in the pool A, which has Kabeberi champions Impala, Mwamba and Catholic Monks.

KCB will bank on top scorer Shaban Ahmed, whose combination with conversion specialist Jacob Ojey, Michael Wanjala and National Sevens captain Andrew Amonde were the toast at Prinsloo finals.

The fourth round of the National Sevens Circuit promises a bruising showdown with five teams chasing the overall title with two legs –Christie Sevens and Dala Sevens Championships- to go before the conclusion of the series.

Defending champions and league leaders Homeboyz, runners up Nakuru RFC, Menengai Oilers, KCB and Impala RFC lead the title chase.

Pool B features Nakuru RFC, Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad, Menengai Oilers and Nondescripts.

Nakuru are keen to cruise into the knockout stages and hopefully left the title.

Head coach Mitch Ocholla is keen to reclaim the title they last won in 2015.

“We are taking a match at a time and a tournament at time to attain good results in the series,” he said.
