Alexis Sanchez has asked to leave Chile training to carry out “other commitments” for 24 hours, according to reports.
The Arsenal playmaker is at the centre of a proposed big-money move to Manchester City.
Manchester City are said to be willing to offload England star Raheem Sterling and cash for Sanchez.
It is currently unclear if Sanchez has been granted permission to leave training with the national side, who face Paraguay in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday.
Wenger has maintained that his star man is not for sale and previously said it was “ideal” he – and others at the club – have only one year left on their contracts.
