Near-death Experience Put Him Closer to God

The fastest man on the planet, sprinter Usain Bolt, wrote in his autobiography that he now has a different perspective on life and is closer to God after his involvement in a car accident in 2009

He almost played for Manchester United

When Bolt declared himself a United fan, he almost got called up for a friendly against Real Madrid by ex-boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

The world’s fastest man has been anything but this year, toiling in his three races and only once breaking 10 seconds.

He's pretty fast

At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, Bolt broke his own 100m world record to cement his place as the fastest man on the planet with a staggering time of 9.58 seconds.

He won three gold medals - fuelled by chicken nuggets

At the Beijing Olympics in 2008, a then 22-year-old Bolt revealed the diet that had powered him to 100m gold glory in a world-record breaking time: McDonald's Chicken McNuggets.

His first trainer was his dog

Growing up in the small Jamaican village of Coxheath, a young Bolt used his dog as a warning system.
