The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) has raised the alarm over rising cases of medical fraud from both private and public practitioners.

According to CEO Geoffrey Mwangi, some practitioners are billing both patients and NHIF. They are investigating those involved and they will cancel their contracts.

“We can only reprimand those who want to steal from us by taking advantage of the newly introduced medical packages,” he said.

He was speaking after a three-day consultative workshop between NHIF and COTU officials in Naivasha.
