Police in Mai Mahiu, Naivasha are investigating a bizarre incident in which unknown people carjacked a middle-aged man, sexually abused him before escaping with his car.

The semi-unconscious man who did not have any documents and was speaking incoherently was found on the streets of the busy trading center before he was rushed to hospital.

The incident came barely a month after the bodies of three men were found dumped in the outskirts of the town in three different incidents.

In the last incident, a middle aged man was forced to lie down and shot on the back of the head before the suspects escaped in a waiting car.

In the latest incident, it was not clear where the man was heading to when the incident occurred leaving area residents in fear and shock.

A witness Joseph Njoroge said that the man was semi-naked with indications that he had been sodomized.

"The man is speaking incoherently and claims that his vehicle was also stolen during the incident but police have taken over the case," he said.

A senior police officer who declined to be named said that the victim had been admitted at the Naivasha sub-county hospital in serious but stable condition.

"We are waiting for him to fully recover so that he can record a statement with us before investigations kick off," said the officer.
