Kerr assures players that he will make minimal changes to the squad.

The newly appointed Gor Mahia coach has assured the players that he will make minimal changes in the team as they battle to recapture the premier league title they lost last year to Tusker.

“I want to assure each player that his number in the team is assured. There is no need to panic,” said Dylan Kerr when the team arrived at Julius Nyere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania yesterday.

Kerr leads a strong team of 25 players and nine officials in Tanzania to face Everton in a build-up match tomorrow at the national stadium.

The match officially kicks off Everton’s pre-season ahead of the start of the English Premier League next month. The Blues are expected in Tanzania this morning.

“Gor Mahia is a good team and we expect to learn a lot from the historic match. This is good exposure for the boys.

“I have confidence in my technical bench as we expect to learn from each other," added Kerr.

Team Manager Jolawi Obondo said the match would be a good marketing strategic for the club.

“Such opportunities come once in a lifetime and we are grateful to SportPesa for enabling our players realise their long-cherished dream,” said Obondo.

Captain Musa Mohammed said the team would put up a good show against Everton.

“We are going to give our best, knowing well are playing a strong team,” said Mohammed.
