Hassan Joho hail praises to Kenya captain Victor Wanyama

Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho on Sunday hosted Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama, his elder brother McDonald Mariga together with their mother.

In a Facebook post, Governor 001, described the pair as a true definition of humble beginnings, persistence, discipline and hard work.

"I had the honour of hosting Kenya football internationals Victor Wanyama who plays for Tottenham Hotspurs and his brother McDonald Mariga who plays for U.S. Latina Calcio.

” These two represent story of humble beginnings, persistence, discipline and hard work. This is an inspiration particularly to the youth to strive for greater things. May the Almighty continue to bless their path and may their gift continue to be a story of inspiration, “he wrote.

They also discussed issues pertaining to growth and development of football across the county, while they enjoyed a meal together.

“Together with their family we enjoyed a meal together as we discussed a wide range of issues including the potential and growth of youth football in Mombasa County, “he added.

Joho, who presided over Mfungo cup finals between Freretown FC and Kadzandani FC at the Uwanja wa Mbuzi Mini Stadium in Nyali Sub-County, on Thursday last week- said both Wanyama and Mariga are an inspiration to the youth to strive for great things since they are achievable.

Victor Wanyama plays as a key central midfielder for London-based Tottenham Hotspur who finished second last season.

Mc Donald mariga plays for Serie B side, Latina in Italy.
