Kenya Ports Authority defends SGR's economic impact

The true economic impact of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) will only be felt after including the gains from cargo trains, Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director Catherine Mturi-Wairi has said.

Recent debates around the economic viability of SGR, she said, had mainly considered the gains from the passenger train without factoring in the economic impact of the cargo train.
