Recently, a section of Muslim leaders endorsed the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta during a meeting at State House. During the meeting, Uhuru stated that he had broken the record by being the first president to appoint many Muslims to Government positions. Well, the President’s statement was only meant to charm the over four million voters and the decision to endorse his re-election bid was not consensual. The endorsement was not based on consultations, as one of the Muslim leaders claimed, but a decision by a few people for personal interests. Hassan Mohamed
President Kenyatta does not deserve another chance. He has failed terribly yet he refuses to own up. For instance, where are the laptops he promised our primary school children? How about the five stadiums Jubilee said it would build around the country? Yet they have forgotten about all these and are busy making fresh promises. No amount of endorsement will help them retain power. Norah Wanjiru
