Five people killed in grisly accident in Sagana, Murang'a County

Five people die, nine others injured in Sagana, Murang'a County following an accident between truck transporting logs and two matatus. The truck is reported to have veered off the road.

The accident which occurred at the notorious Mlima Swara black spot on Thursday night lost control before landing on the two vehicles which were in motion.

Nine people who were injured were taken to Thika district hospital.

Among the dead included a driver of one of the public service vehicles and four female passengers in vehicles destined to Meru and Embu.

It landed on the two PSV vehicle which were following one another heading towards Makutano direction.

An eye witness said the 10.15 pm accident occurred after the truck suspected to have been overloaded with logs allegedly harvested from a Kakuzi plantation veered off the road.

Murang'a South OCPD Mr Paul Wanjama said the injured were pulled from the vehicles and rushed to Thika district hospital where they were put under treatment.
