Uhuru suspends Coastal campaign as NASA heats up presidential vote hunt

Incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta suspended his four day coastal campaign to attend national prayers geared onto having a peaceful election come August 8.

In the company of Deputy President and running mate William Ruto, Kenyatta admonished Kenyans to be eager in ensuring peace prevailed in the general poll.

“We are still divided along tribal lines but there is nothing done even by our ancestors that cannot be undone,” said President Kenyatta, referring to the unfortunate results of the 2017 skirmishes in 2007 general election.

The inter-denominational national prayer breakfast, aims to consolidate efforts of encouraging peace ahead of the August poll.

On the other hand, opposition coalition National Duper Alliance continues its massive vote hunt across the country, with the trail headed to Baringo County to woo voters.

The team, propelled by the five NASA point men, hopes to garner 10 million votes to oust Jubilee out of power.

Elsewhere Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho unveils his running mate ahead of the NASA campaign in Mombasa County set to be held over the weekend.

Joho, who has shown unwavering support for Orange Democratic Movement in his County, sets to battle out the Mombasa gubernatorial seat with WIPER’s Hassan Omar.
