Costa hints he would be receptive to a move to French football in the future

Diego Costa has refused to rule out a move to France as he shuffles closer to the Chelsea exit.

Blues striker Costa looks set to leave the club after attempting to force moves to Atletico Madrid and China in the last two windows.

And now the Spain international is looking to Ligue 1 - bigging up Marseille, Paris Saint Germain and Monaco.

Costa told Telefoot: “Marseille have constructed a nice project. PSG, we know, are respected in Europe.

"Monaco also have a wonderful project and have some great players. Ligue 1 is developing.

"I am very happy at Chelsea but anything can happen in football.

"If I need to make a change, France is a country where I have never played. So why not?”

Costa previously has revealed he told Antonio Conte he wanted a transfer on the manager's FIRST day in charge at the Blues.

Spain striker Costa has been trying for the last few transfer windows to force a move back to Atletico Madrid, but accepts that dream is now over following an embarrassing climbdown last summer.

“On Conte's first day, I told him that I wanted to join Atletico and he was upset with me and didn't even look at me.

"Luckily, I started to score goals.

"I did all that I could to return but it didn't happen. When Atletico had to wait for me, they didn't wait.

“There was still a month to go [end of transfer window] and they didn't have the patience [instead signing Kevin Gameiro from Sevilla].

“When Atletico didn't wait for me, I had to go to Conte with the tail between my legs.”
