The Kenyan Political Heckler, Aden Duale

The Kenyan Parliamentary leader of Majority Aden Duale is deemed as one of the most reckless politician in his speech and action

The self-appointed Jubilee spokesman has found himself on the wrong side of the law and often rubbed Kenyans the wrong way with his careless speech, often geared in high profile meetings even in front of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He portrays himself as the diehard Jubilee defender who will stop at nothing until he whitens the reputation of the ruling party.

The Garrisa Member of Parliament is known for his heckling behavior towards anybody who tries to expose or come forth against the government. In most cases, this strategy has backfired on him tainting him as a careless leader who has no Kenyans interest at heart.

After a spate of Alshabaab attacks in the country Duale came out claiming he had a list of the vigilante group sympathizers and financers whose names he would release after 30 days.

He claimed that they not only came from North Eastern Region where they had been an easy target but from different parts of the country.

However, when the 30 day window elapsed, Duale went under prompting his colleagues including those in his party to demand his resignation.

They demanded Duale to immediately step aside claiming they will not welcome any task force or committee to investigate the April 2, 2016 attack at the Garissa University College and opposed the Government's amnesty to Al-Shabaab.

In a strange twist of event they accused Duale and 34 MPs from Northern Kenya, including the Governors of Wajir, Mandera and Garissa coutnies of shielding the militant group financers.

"They have taken far too long with the list they promised. We hope they don't think Kenyans will forget. They should all step aside until they give us the full list or we take action as parliamentarians.

 We have been too casual with issues for far too long," said Johnson Sakaja the then Chairman of President Uhuru Kenyatta's defunct TNA Party.
In his defense Duale claimed they were out to tarnish his name.
"My conscience is very clear. I am not a terrorist. It is possible the member for Mavoko wanted to use the word "terrorist" in his maiden speech, that is why he called me a terrorist," said Duale in his response to the MP for Mavoko Patrick Makau who called him a "terrorist" during debate in the National Assembly on the attack on Garissa University College where Al-Shabaab gunmen killed 147 students and police officers.

He said Northern Kenya leaders were working around the clock to make sure that sympathizers are arrested.
The list has remain a mystery to date, baffling Kenya’s if it really existed or it was just a loose talk from Duale.

However, a recent leaked audio clip of him allegedly saying that Kamba community should be barred from registering as voters in Garissa sparked of controversy into his role in incitement and hate speech creation among the youth.

In the recording, a voice is heard calling for the stationing of youths at polling stations to bar members of the community in Garissa from getting voter cards.
“You should have five youths at every polling station and if you are arrested because of violence, you will be released. I will pay your bills and all costs,” cuts his voice.

 The clip was allegedly recorded without his knowledge in an indoor meeting with some youths.

 Kenyans did not take it lightly and quickly demanded his immediate arrest. Some took it to Social media, expressing their anger towards Duale with the hashtag arrestDuale being on top of the chats for several days.

A defiant Duale denied the allegations claiming it was his opponents who were out to tarnish his name by playing dirty politics.

“The sound is neither audible nor verifiable,” he quipped.

Duale, during the burial of a prominent politician Mark Too said that former Chief of General Staff Mohamud Mohamed, his in-law, rescued the former president from the bush during the 1982 failed coup.

The claims came across as “demeaning” to the former president, according to local Kalenjin elders who demanded an apology from him.

He crossed swords with Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto who has been demanding more funding for County governments so he went ahead telling him in front of the Deputy President William Ruto: “These funds belong to Kenyans, they do not belong to your mother.”

Joseph Maina a political analyst, portrays Duale as desperate to please Uhuru.

“He would do anything to ensure he is on the right books with the president, including stepping on people's toes or locking himself in situations which have seen him on the wrong side of the law,” said Maina.

He claims that Duale has never understood his role in parliament.

“He thinks it is to defend the party and barely tables important issues facing the country, which is his ultimate job,” he added.

James Keru, a businessman, claims Duale is confused.
“He talks for the sake of talking and can burn the whole country down if he is left untamed,” he added.
