The Judiciary has condemned attacks against judicial officers by government officials. In a meeting chaired by Chief Justice David Maraga, the Judicial Service Commission said they will not sit back and watch politicians and State officers engage in public lynching of judges.

“In particular, JSC expressed its outrage at the emerging trend where State officials and other parties have engaged in open manifestation of disrespect to the courts and judicial process,” said Chief Registrar of Judiciary Anne Amadi.

The commission singled out National Assembly Leader of Majority Aden Duale for attacking Justice George Odunga over a court matter he was handling in December last year. -Paul Ogemba
