REFEREE: Official Ekoumou labelled cheat after loss

Cameroonian referee Jeanne Ekoumou has been branded a 'cheat' by her fellow countrymen and other football fans following her suspect calls during the Kenya versus Ghana match.

Kenya lost 3-1, thanks to captain Elizabeth Addo's controversial brace. Neutral fans in Limbe, who were rooting for Harambee Starlets, were left a dejected lot following Ekoumou's decision to award Black Queens a penalty, yet a player had been fouled outside the box.

As if that was not enough, she receded her decision of awarding Starlets a genuine penalty after Esse Akida was fouled. "That referee is a cheat. Kenya didn't deserve to lose this game, they were robbed. I hate referees who like to take sides with passion. I think she had a fixed mind," said a disappointed female fan.
