It was 9:53pm when the phone rang. A female voice clearly in distress asked if I was a gynaecologist. When I said yes, she asked if it was possible to reverse the effects of an abortion medicine she had taken.
My reflex answer was: “I don’t think so.” But I asked her what medication she had taken and where she got it from.
