When losing faith means gaining another way of life

NAIROBI: In this dramatic week that the Supreme Court of the United States declared that same-sex rights should apply across the nation, a local group of atheists stepped forward to seek registration.

Yes, I hear quite a bit of strife in the world today has lots of things to do with faith, and how it is expressed, but seldom do we hear a complete renunciation of faith as a basis of anything else.

A local court declared the registration of atheists’ lobby would be in breach of the Constitution, for the very foundation of this nation is premised upon the existence of God, as reflected in the opening line to the national anthem.

Even the country is named after the highest peak in the land which our ancestors believe was God’s abode.

Maybe the atheists should enlist our Cousin Barry’s support when he comes calling, he pays attention to such special-interest groups.

In any case, the very expression of one’s faith is discouraged quite a bit in the US, so the atheists should even consider applying for asylum in the land of the free.

There they would be guaranteed a measure of safety in expressing their lack of faith.

So even lack of something is now equated to gaining something, which illustrates the enormous opportunities that exist today.
