A letter to the Wajir County Government

Am saddened by the level of ignorance the county has shown to the youths of Wajir County. The younger generation has  been taken for granted by the county government, I’m not surprised that most young professionals are not interested in serving its home county.

There’s lack of patriotism from the youths since the old folks have taken up the leadership and governance of the county ignoring the new innovative energy of the youths thus not giving them a chance to prove their worth.

However when you walk on the streets of Nairobi and Mombasa you would be surprised that the percentage of Wajir youths who are unemployed is increasing day by day.

Unfortunately the county department of youths can’t even think of the welfare of the youths by involving them in county development projects. Challenges like education crisis can’t go away easily till the youths feel they have a share of the county cake.

As at now who will be willing to come to a county which does not give them a chance to showcase their skills and serve the community if already the said county government neglects their potential abilities and talent?

Youth inclusion and participation is the most essential thing in county development. The country may have all the best innovative projects but new and untapped energy for effectiveness and sustainability is necessary.

The county menace needs youth inclusion and participation to give solutions.
