Governor Ruto faults Jubilee for politicking

Council of Governors (CoG) Chairman Isaac Ruto has criticised the Jubilee administration claiming it is preoccupied with the 2017 politics at the expense of fulfilling election pledges.

The Bomet governor said in Naivasha at the weekend that Jubilee leaders were engaging in too much politicking.

Ruto said the move to form a new political party, Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP), was ill-timed.

"The idea of formation of JAP was arrived at using the unpopular up-bottom approach instead of the bottom-up one. Even the Kanu regime was more consultative than Jubilee," said Ruto.

The reaction comes barely a day after the Jubilee Parliamentary Group unanimously agreed during a two-day retreat in Naivasha graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta that JAP was the 2017 political vehicle.

But Ruto defended the innocence of Deputy President William Ruto and former radio presenter Joshua Arap Sang, saying the 2007/2008 post-election violence was spontaneous and not planned by anyone.
