Six die at prophet David Owuor’s Nakuru crusade

Six people who were attending Prophet David Owour’s grand crusade at Kaptembwa grounds in Nakuru town have died.

Nakuru OCPD Bernard Kioko said they died from natural causes at the crusade grounds.
Kioko said the six were reported to have been suffering from different ailments and had been brought to the crusade to receive healing miracles from the renowned prophet.

“The five had attended prayers believing they would be healed through miracles from the prophet but they unfortunately succumbed to their ailments,” said Kioko.

Bodies of the deceased have been taken to Nakuru County mortuary for post-mortem.

The crusade that began on December 31 has attracted several people from all over the country and is expected to end tomorrow.

Several people have claimed to have been healed from various diseases while others with disabilities have claimed to have received miracles since the crusade began.

Thousands of worshippers from various part of the country and abroad thronged Kaptembwo grounds from Monday this week for the end of year crusade.

The town has experienced heavy traffic jam as many vehicles have been offering transport services ferrying worshippers to the venue.

Traders also took advantage of the crusade to sell their products including white handkerchiefs and foodstuff.


The crusade has been dominated by healing testimonies from believers who claim to have been healed from terminal illness and various disabilities.
Owour has condemned most local preachers who spend their lifetime pushing believers for miracles in the name of making money, saying such days are long gone and God will punish them for cheating and misleading his people.

The scholar-turned-televangelist has been heard several times taking issue with pastors for preaching the gospel of prosperity and getting money from their followers, calling on them to repent and turn unto God for healing.

He has also challenged local leaders to seek truth, diligently serving God so as to nurture an honest and corruption-free nation.
The prophet said his mission is to heal and deliver people and nations to God.
