Jubilee plans media forum on scorecard

Kenya: The Jubilee Government has planned a series of media engagements following President Uhuru Kenyatta’s State of the Nation address last week, as the administration prepares to mark first anniversary.

The cabinet media briefings are scheduled to kick off tomorrow on television stations during prime time and radio shows, where the State officers will discuss the President’s speech. The Government seeks to reveal its achievements, challenges and measures taken to address them.

Last Thursday, President Kenyatta delivered his first address to the nation, tackling three key issues; the country’s international obligation, state of security and national values and principals of governance as stipulated in Article 10 of the Constitution.

Opposition leaders led by Kisumu Senator Anyang’ Nyongo faulted Jubilee over the address, saying the President fell short of the people’s expectations especially on state of national security. However, Jubilee MPs insist Uhuru complied with the law.

Chief of Staff Joshua Kinyua—in a letter to all Cabinet secretaries and copied to all principal secretaries and the State House spokesman—outlines the schedule of the cabinet clusters as was agreed during the retreat.
