The kinds of friends every woman needs

A while back, I wrote about toxic friends that a woman needs to flush out of her life. Now, I think it is only fair to also talk about the solid friends that every woman needs in her life.

Before I get into a breakdown, I will talk about my good friend Wandia. I do not refer to her as my best friend forever (BFF), but Wandia is a dear sister to me. I met her way back when I was in campus and our friendship took off immediately. Even after campus, though we moved into separate careers (she is into events management) we have maintained close touch and I know that any time I need a friend, Wandia is there.

Through all the difficult times in my life, Wandia has been there for me in ways that I cannot even describe. She is the kind of friend I can call at 3am to talk and she will not hang up on me. Not many of us women are lucky to have a friend like Wandia, but every woman should pray that God sends any of the following women in their inner circle:

Wise Wendy: There are times in a woman's life when you are at crossroads and you need to make a decision that requires Solomonic wisdom. For instance, you have gotten a very enticing job with an attractive package but the job requires you to relocate to some remote county. Now this is where good old Wendy comes in. Wendy will, in her wisdom and in a very diplomatic way, explain to you the pros and cons of both decisions and in a very subtle way and hint to you what decision is best for you given that you have a young family.

Pure Purity: A woman who has the qualities of the Proverbs 31 woman is a good friend to keep in your circle of friends. Purity is such a pure soul you know that you can tell her any secret and she will go with it to the grave. She is that girl who is always looking out for you and wants the best for you. She is the one who sends you inspiring messages every day and even if you do not reply, she does not catch feelings. She is the woman who will inquire if she does not see you in church any given day. This is the kind of friend whenever you have an earth moving problem you can request her to stand with you in prayer and she will go further and even fast on your behalf. She is simply God sent.

Smart Susan: I always say that lucky is the woman who has a friend who is street smart. This is the girl who knows every corner of the city, whatever you are trying to locate be it a street in town, or a website, she knows it. She knows from where to buy the cheapest diaper to the best deals of adult and baby clothing.

I am lucky that my friend Wandia is a combination of all these three qualities plus more.
