Nairobi, Kenya: Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s ally Eliud Owalo Tuesday announced withdrawal of his services to CORD.

In a letter addressed to CORD leader Raila Odinga, Owalo cited unwarranted attacks by ODM Deputy Minority Leader Jakoyo Midiwo.

“I have in the recent past faced persistent but unwarranted attacks from your cousin Jaokoyo Midiwo; informed primarily by what I believe is his desire for unlimited and unfettered political space around you”, said Owalo.

“After a lot of soul searching and with the specific intention of creating room for Jakoyo and his ilk; I have decided to withdraw my services to the CORD coalition and is leadership with immediate effect,” he concluded.

Owalo said he had withdrawn all services including being the Head of CORD secretariat, a task he claims he has been doing on voluntary basis. He headed the former Prime Minister’s Presidential campaign secretariat last year.
