A woman has moved to court to have her neighbour charged with beating her up for allegedly stealing her husband on Facebook.
Leah Murugi claimed that Loice Manyale assaulted her at her work place in Starehe for allegedly taking her man. According to police records, the accused severely beat Leah on July 7.
The prosecution said that Leah was at her work place on the said day at round 4pm when the accused confronted her for allegedly sending messages to her husband on Facebook.
It was during the confrontation that Loice reportedly scratched Leah on the face before wrestling her to the ground, resulting in serious injuries to the forehead, chest and lips.
Members of the public and the complainant’s colleagues who witnessed the drama intervened and rushed her to a nearby clinic where she was treated and discharged. She later reported the matter to police. Leah denied sending messages to the accused’s husband on Facebook.
Loice denied assaulting Leah and was released on a Sh10,000 bail. The case will be heard on October 29.
