School closed following invasion by ghosts

Bumula Girls High School has been forced to close indefinitely following allegations that the school had been invaded by demons.

It is alleged the students became unruly, hysterical and wailed all over in the school compound due to the invasion of demons which have been haunting them for the past two weeks.

Efforts by priests to exorcise the demons bore no fruits and the board of management in agreement with Bumula District Education Officer Cyrus Juma agreed to send the learners home as investigations to find the cause were launched.

Addressing the press after staging a demonstration on Monday evening, the girls said they were terrified by the demons after seeing strange things happening every night.

"We see money littered everywhere in the compound but when we try to pick the notes they disappear, at night some men sleep and have sexual intercourse with us but we can't see them, we fear for our lives," narrated a terrified student.

Sleepless nights

The issue, they say has caused them sleepless nights and have called for a priest to exorcise the evil spirit but all in vain.

County Director of Education Charles Anyika said he was informed of the situation and he ordered for students to be sent home until normalcy is restored at the institution.

Contacted, the School Principal Bridgid Nasimiyu said she had no comment even after some parents and students claimed that she might be behind the saga of devil worship in the school.

"I know the issue may affect the form four students but we are working on how to solve the problem and ensure that when they resume, everything will be in place to allow them room to study without fear," said Ms Anyika.

Claims of alleged devil worship is becoming common in learning institutions with people blaming the students and teachers of seeking powers from unknown source to help them pass exams due to lack of proper preparations.
