Wiper overhauls assembly leaders

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka

There has been a change of leadership at the county assembly in a move meant to patch things up with the executive.

A statement signed by 11 of the 19 Wiper-affiliated MCAs in the House and sent to their National Executive Director and Speaker said the team had failed to offer sound leadership.

"Due to prolonged leadership wrangles in Makueni County assembly, party members strongly feel that the party leadership in the assembly has been unable to add any meaningful value to Makueni."

They have now called for dialogue with the executive to end wrangles.

Those axed include the majority leader and his deputy, the chief whip and his deputy.

They have been replaced by Bensely Mathuku (majority leader), Jonathan Ndungi (deputy majority leader), Martin Mutuku (chief whip) and Lizer Zacharia (deputy chief whip).
