The National Council for Children Services calls for flexibility in teachers’ strike talks

The National Council for Children Services (NCCS) wants teachers unions and the Government to embrace the spirit of 'give and take' as the two parties deliberate on the ongoing strike.

The semi autonomous agency, created by an Act of Parliament, yesterday through a statement to newsrooms said the strike is creating a negative impact on children's lives and education performance.

"We appeal for an open mind when the Kenya National Union of Teachers, Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers, Ministry of Education and Teachers Service Commission sit together tomorrow (today) so that a lasting solution can be found in the best interest of the child," said NCCS Chairperson Hellen Waweru.
