Hookers ‘reaping’ big time from Eldoret farmers who just got their tea bonus

Hookers in city streets

Tea bonus time in rural areas is a time of financial windfall that leaves many victims in its wake.

Take Kipkorir for example, who was offered nocturnal company by a woman he later learnt was a ‘night nurse.’

On November 26, Kipkorir walked out of a hotel after a few steamy hours feeling like ‘King Mswati.’

But his joy was short-lived after discovery that the ‘night nurse’ had made away with his Sh50,000 and new phone.

“Kakwo simet, kagechorena ak chepkondok tugul tipchu (My phone and my money has been stolen by these girls)!” shouted Kipkorir as he rushed back to the hotel where he attracted the attention of passers-by and taxi operators.

“Hawa watchmen hawataki nipande juu kwa room nitafute aliye niibia pesa na simu (These watchmen do not want me to look for the woman who stole my cash and phone from the room),” said a distraught Kipkorir.

“Umenyolewa na wembe yako, nani alikuambia upande juu, hawa wasichana ni wabaya na nyinyi hamskii ilhali mna mabibi nyumbani (You have been taught a lesson, who told you to go upstairs. These women are dangerous. You act this way yet you have wives at home),” said an onlooker who appeared to sympathise with Kipkorir.

Another curious spectator said, “Shukuru Mungu haukuumizwa. Pesa na simu si kitu, bora uhai (thank God you are unharmed. Money and phone are replaceable, not your life).”

Men being taken to the cleaners is common in Eldoret town. An elderly man from Uasin Gishu was also humbled at the same joint after he was robbed of Sh400,000 by twilight girls.

After selling his maize, he decided to drop by the joint for a drink or two.

While clearing his bill and that of his company, the man unleashed a note from a bundle of cash in his left jacket pocket oblivious of the other girls who were keenly watching his moves.

While the man and his guest walked through the narrow corridors to get to their room, a group of women pounced on him, robbing him of his valuables.

Last year, a man caused a stir in an Eldoret pub when he stripped naked after an alleged robbery.

The man identified as Wycliffe Wechuli walked naked across the pub demanding the management to compel the bar attendants to refund his Sh10,000.

It took the intervention of police for the Bungoma man to put on his clothes.

Despite numerous caution from leaders and county officials against walking around with huge sums of cash and spending it on prostitutes, many farmers have turned a deaf ear. Around this time, twilight girls from other counties pitch camp in Eldoret hoping to make a ‘kill’ from unsuspecting locals who have just harvested and sold their maize.
