I was not sacked, says former Health executive Timothy King'ondu

Health Executive Timothy King'ondu has said he resigned willingly from the position to pursue private interests.

In a letter to Ukambani professionals, Mr King'ondu said he resigned "in order to allow others make their contribution to public service".

Last week, Governor Evans Kidero indicated that King'ondu resigned from his position but claims were rife he was sacked on the grounds of non-performance.

Speaking to The Standard by telephone yesterday, Kingo'ndu said he wanted to confine himself to business.

"As you know, I was the Health executive member for over a year. During this time, I had the privilege of working with the governor, deputy governor and other members of the county government," he said.

He said he had enjoyed a fruitful and cordial relationship with the entire county government, and knew the relationships would  continue to flourish after his departure.
