Jose Mourinho has again insisted that he wants Bastian Schweinsteiger out of Manchester United.

According to The Sun, the Portuguese boss worked his hardest to offload the flop German midfielder this summer, to no avail.

With Schweinsteiger rejecting a potential summer move to Sporting Lisbon, Mourinho was left cornered by the decision, sticking the £150,000-a-week man in the reserves.

The former Bayern Munich striker was also excluded from the Manchester United first-team squad's photocall at Carrington on Monday.

His omission is another kick in the teeth for the embattled Germany international.
